Over 70 Years of Service in Maple Ridge

We are proud to serve our local community. Maple Ridge Eye Care has been working in the community for decades to care for people’s eye health and vision. Along the way, we became passionate about helping others in need.

We understand the importance of giving back to the people who support us. We are active both locally and to a broader base of need, by supporting charities like the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation and the CNIB which provides community-based support for Canadians who are blind or partially sighted. We’re also proud annual donors for the West Coast Cycle for Sight, in support of promising research and development for effective treatments and cures for vision loss.

This past October, we were pleased to support the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation’s annual Gala by donating Tiffany sunwear to the silent auction and contributing $3,000 in additional support to the evening. In November of 2022, we attended the Comic Vision Gala, again in support of Fighting Blindness Canada, donating a total of $3,000 for this important charity.

In June 2023 our Maple Ridge Eye Care team had another successful fundraising ride to support the Cycle for Sight. In the photo is (from left) our team member, Chris Scott from Maui Jim, former Paralympic swimmer Donovan Tildesley, who was tandem stoker with our team member and optician, Julian (middle), Dr. Hurlbert and our optometric assistant Robin. Julian and Donovan accomplished their 60 km ride on a tandem bike! Overall, our team raised a whopping $5,562.45 for Fighting Blindness Canada – making them the 5th top team at the West Coast ride! Robin was also recognized at the event with the Spirit Award, as this was her 6th year volunteering. It was a great effort by all to support sight-saving research and we’re proud that we were able to be a part of this wonderful initiative.
