Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a common eye condition that affects millions of people worldwide. It is characterized by the deterioration of the macula, which is responsible for central vision.

With MacuMira, we aim to provide our patients with a safe and effective solution that may halt the progression of AMD and improve their vision. Learn more about MacuMira here or download the MacuMira patient treatment booklet

What Is Age-Related Macular Degeneration?

AMD can significantly impact one’s ability to read, drive, and recognize faces.

There are 2 types of AMD: dry and wet. Dry AMD, the most common form, occurs when the macula thins over time, leading to the accumulation of drusen (yellow deposits) beneath the retina. This gradual degeneration results in blurred or distorted central vision.

Symptoms of dry AMD may include:

  • Blurred or hazy vision
  • Need for brighter light when reading or working
  • Decreased colour intensity perception

How Does MacuMira Treat Age-Related Macular Degeneration?

MacuMira offers hope to individuals suffering from dry AMD. It is an innovative treatment designed to address the underlying causes of the condition and potentially improve vision.

The treatment uses modern technology to deliver precise laser energy to the affected areas of the macula. This targeted application stimulates cellular repair and regeneration, helping to slow down the degenerative process and improve visual acuity.

Patients who have undergone MacuMira treatment have reported positive outcomes and a potential halt in the progression of their AMD.

We understand that you may have further questions and would like to explore MacuMira in more detail. We encourage you to download our comprehensive MacuMira patient treatment booklet.
